Chicago Casting Call 2011

The Glee Project open auditions began this year in Chicago and this group of hopefuls were first in line…they even slept outside overnight to get that spot!
Look who's arrived! The Glee Project Season 1 winner, Samuel Larsen, joined the casting calls and took pictures with tons of adoring fans.
Not only was this girl celebrating her birthday, but she also got to meet and talk to Samuel! Later, she got to sing for Robert. What a day!
Samuel ran up and down the huge line at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago. The line for auditions went on forever!

The entire group ascends up the escalators to finally begin the casting process. Our first auditioner was No. 100 and he was raring to go!
Everyone headed to a massive holding room where they would await the call to go sing for our first group of screeners.
Oxygen's amazing correspondent, Tiffany Smith, gets the crowd even more amped up for this exciting day.
The group of hopefuls in Chicago were definitely living out loud!
While in the holding room everyone was practicing their songs and making new friends with the people around them.
Every auditioner needs that special something to make them stand out, so one decided to display his skills on the violin…and they were great!
Tiffany interviewed people waiting in line to find out all about their experience with Glee and The Glee Project.
New friendships were created all day long! You wouldn't even know this was a competition with all the love spreading through the room.
Hopefuls were taken in groups of 5 to screening rooms where they would sing one of the 8 songs chosen by our casting team. Within minutes, they would find out if they would sing for Robert.
It was clear that Cameron made a huge impact with his audition last year. Many more people brought instruments this time around, with the guitar being the most popular choice.
The girls belted out the songs. They had to prove they had something really special to move on to the next round!
Tiffany congratulates a girl who just found out she made it past the screening room and would be heading to Robert's room next. What a feeling!
Robert and Samuel had a blast seeing all the amazing talent at the open auditions. Robert even had Samuel sit in on a few auditions. I'm sure that only made everyone more nervous!
One hopeful is determined to make her presence known for the screeners.
People were determined to make it out to Chicago for this year's casting call. Check out this girl who hurt her leg, but wrapped a bow around it. She managed to keep her spirits high throughout the day!
These contestants started to feel the beat within their hearts way before they even stepped in to be judged!
